“No man can live this life and emerge unchanged. He will carry , however faint, the imprint of the desert, the brand which marks the nomad; and he will have a yearning to return, weak or insistent according to his nature. For this cruel land can cast a spell which no temperate clime can match.
SAHARA CHALLENGE OCTOBER 2012
Trek the largest desert in the world and experience the incredible views, sun rises and terrain on this African adventure. Camels, oases and more await you in this truly exotic charity trek…
The Sahara desert stretches from the snow capped High Atlas mountains of Morocco in the west, to the Red Sea coast 4,800km to the East. Its landscape varies from a stony flat expanse to perfect wind blown sand dunes, broken only by the occasional oasis. The feeling of space and utter remoteness is awesome.
With proud Berbers as your guides and a small caravan of camels to carry your supplies, you will trek 175km through this varied and stunning landscape.
Taking part in an Open Challenge is a wonderful way of exploring the world and raising money for The Undentable Trust.
